During the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn (COP 23, 6-17 November), around 150 cultural and other events will take place in the city Bonn to complement the many hundreds of events taking place at the two official conference venues (the “Bula” and “Bonn” zones).
This is to give people who do not have access to the two formal conference venues the opportunity to observe and join in many interesting climate action activities, ranging from happenings to art exhibitions.
In the run-up to COP23, the city of Bonn received 180 applications from numerous local and international organizations.
A jury consisting of representatives of UN Climate Change, the incoming Fijian Presidency of COP 23, the German Environment Ministry, and the City of Bonn chose the final projects.
All of the selected projects relate in one way or another to climate action, climate education, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) promotion and awareness raising.
The organizers are dubbed “Official Climate Partners”, and their events can be identified through this official logo:
